One of the best ways to spend time in San Francisco is by renting a GoCar. This car rental company offers cars that are easy to drive as well as comfortable and affordable. There are several locations throughout California where you can find these vehicles, so it should be easy for anyone who wants to explore this area using this option.
When you rent a GoCar, you’ll be able to see all the major sites of SF in half a day or less, and you’ll quickly learn which places you want to spend more time in, and which places are suited simply for a quick look while you drive by. Each one comes with a GPS, with an automated tour recording that plays key facts of certain locations when you reach them. You can choose to follow pre-planned route or go outside and explore the city at your own leisure, or a little of both!
When I rented a GoCar, I was able to see the following places all within 3 hours.
What more is there to say. You can’t go to SF and not see this bridge. Now, you can’t actually drive a GoCar on the bridge, but you can definitely drive it around the Presidio and nearby. With easy parking in the GoCar, you can stop by at many places for some amazing photos.
Your driving experience actually begins in this area. Fisherman’s wharf is quite touristy, but still very enjoyable. Definitely stop here for some great Clam Chowder, or fresh sea food. And if you’re feeling historic, check out the old times penny arcade.
Also nearby the goCar vendor, this beach is as popular as it is beautiful, and will give you some of the best views of the Golden Gate Bridge while you’re relaxing in the sand. We definitely enjoy partaking in a luxury picnic Bay Area set up at Baker’s beach, using one of SF’s many picnic vendors, where you can celebrate your vacation festivities in a ready-to-go picnic experience.
One of my favorite places to visit when I’m in the SF, Bay Area region. You can walk along the mountainous cliffs through throngs of trees and wildlife, all while enjoying coastal views. So why not stop and take a quick 10 minute stroll.
Driving a GoCar here was a nice introduction to see how massive the park really is. It’s one of those places that a drive through isn’t enough to truly enjoy; so make sure you save time in your vacation schedule to come back and stroll through the Japanese Tea Garden and Flower conservatory.
GoCar charges by time, so don’t worry if you go over a little. You’re only charged down to the minutes, so you don’t have to rush back if you only intended to rent the car for two hours.
No matter what you decide, there’s no denying the splendor of San Francisco. There’s just too much to do; but at least in a GoCar, you can experience it in style.
